Through a variety of art practices including painting, sculpture, installation and video, the artists involved in Trying Really Hard comment on and involve themselves in the history of commodification through a process in which they reconstruct elements of industrial waste, low culture, and disregarded human environments into objects relating to the nature of spirituality, the sublime, and materiality.

Opening Reception: Saturday, May 20, 6pm-9pm
Artist Talk: Sunday, May 21, 2pm

Location: 421 Jefferson Street, Savannah, GA 31401

Upcoming Exhibition: Suspension

Suspension is a dual show of work by the artists Harrison Deller and Sarah Rifkin with sound by Roberto Garcia. Through a variety of art practices the artists explore concepts of material and spirit. Coming from different backgrounds and conceptions, the work in Suspension also emphasizes the notion of a coming together of people and beliefs through a well-balanced collaborative effort. Artists Deller, Rifkin and Garcia have found a very strong sense of unity in their cooperative experiences and a shared passion for making both individually and as a collective endeavor.

The opening reception will be on April 28th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at WELMONT, located at 1930 Montgomery Street, Savannah, GA 31401. This event is free and open to the public.
